Free E-Book Monday. 7 Free reads for your Kindle.

Pride, paranoia and paranormal forces all conspire to derail Detective Marcella’s investigation into a series of suspicious suicides in New Castle, Massachusetts. In this sequel to The Witch’s Ladder, Marcella learns that because of the ties that bind their pasts, every potential victim is also a possible suspect.

Claire Jasper is being stalked and she has no idea why. Someone or something wants her badly. After reaching a dead end with the police she decides to reach out for help of a different sort. She visits a man named Victor Landeaux, a bounty hunter for the Undead. It’s through him that Claire discovers that a demon named Parafronas needs her soul for a ritual that takes place once every six hundred years.

Victor’s style is unconventional and startling to Claire. He’s crass, direct, and not much of a gentleman. However, he is incredibly good looking, rugged, and strong. She cannot help being attracted to him, the man who is going to protect her. Claire also senses that Victor may be drawn to her despite his resistance. As the intensity of the Undead’s pursuit of Claire heats up, Victor knows they cannot leave each other’s side if he is going to keep her protected. They end up traveling to Miami, New Orleans, and New York City to solve the mystery of why Claire is the chosen one for Parafronas. Through harrowing experiences with demons, Lieges, an incubus, and a vampire, Victor and Claire take on the Undead. The experience brings them together on a deeper level and neither of their lives will be the same again.

Nestled in the plane of Paran, a peaceful town is shocked when some of their children go missing. The disappearances are portent to the re-emergence of the ancient priestess cult of Eitel, one known for stealing souls to gain immortality. Bethany M'Doro is a Healer and a Knower, assisting diggers on an archeological site by connecting artifacts and their owners. But even with her psychic abilities, she never envisioned the kidnapping of her own daughter, Sarah. Connor Jessup never forgave himself for letting his wife Elizabeth leave him so easily. He turned his back on his Nevada town, and on himself. When Bethany's latest excavation places the remains of Elizabeth at the center of the cult of Eitel, she knows she must travel to the Earth plane and seek Connor's help. Arriving in shadow form, she first meets Connor in his dreams. He believes she's an angel and gladly goes with her back to Paran. Once there, he comes to understand Bethany's true nature, and finds himself drawn into the search for her missing daughter and the connection to his wife. Now they must unravel the dark secrets behind the ancient cult and find Sarah before she's lost forever. As their quest unfolds, they discover an even deeper unexpected journey -- one filled with sorrow, loss, and redemption.

Seventeen-year-old Elizabeth Moon has been dreaming of her murder her entire life, and in those dreams, a dark presence is there, watching. When she returns home to Hauser’s Landing, the very place her father disappeared, she comes in contact with a gorgeous boy named Lev Walker, and it’s not long before she’s falling in love. But there’s something wrong with Lev. When she realizes he’s the eerie watcher in her dreams, she’ll have to discover the truth. Is he a guardian angel or a sojourner, an angel of death who has come to collect her soul?

In a distant land, evil masquerades as desire. A vicious flame-haired temptress hides secrets, fangs that drain the life from the victims she seduces so easily. Her leavings are doomed to exist outside of Regency society, and one - Adrian - finds he cannot shed his humanity in spite of what he has become. He wishes for nothing more than the death he is constantly denied.
Lost and alone, he washes up on the beach of a small English estate, St. Chesswell’s. And there he’s found by the owner, Sir Sidney Chesswell, a gentleman of science and soul with a heart yearning for family. Unfazed by Adrian’s “condition”, Sir Sidney adopts him, giving them both new hope and a future that isn’t as bleak as either anticipated. Science, believes Sir Sidney, can produce an answer to Adrian’s affliction and together they work to find something that will help.
In the meantime their experiments are disturbed by the eventful arrival of a woman, Katherine Byerly. Red-haired and with her own secrets, Kat finds herself a hiding place, somewhere to heal and plan for her own uncertain future. The fact that she’s finding Adrian Chesswell strangely compelling merely adds to her confusion.
But revelations are inevitable and truths will out, no matter how well concealed they might be.
Confronted by their demons, both Kat and Adrian must fight, and the growing bond between them will give them the strength they need to survive.

Even though her father, who is a paranormal investigator, solely raised Emma, she has little experience in the realm of the supernatural. When she is forced to move with her father to Hawaii, only months before her graduation, Emma finds that her world as she knows it, is shaken when she starts seeing the unexplainable: fire balls in the distance, beating drums in the middle of nowhere and strangers who vanish into thin air. Then one day when she has a run in with a procession of Night Marchers, ancient Hawaiian spirits wandering from their burial grounds to their locations of battles past, Emma has no choice but to believe that the unbelievable does exist.

Now Emma must go on the run with the help of a mysterious stranger, as they seek out how to free Emma from the curse of a Night Marcher, who will stop at nothing to get her soul.

An adoptee raised in a foreign land, sixteen-year-old Lianne was content with her life as handmaiden to the queen, until a spell cast on her at birth activated. Now she's filled with uncontrollable rage and access to magic she thought had been bled from her people years ago. Even her years of secret training in elite hand-to-hand combat and meditation can't calm the fires raging inside her.

Her heart is torn between two boys, the one she's always loved and the one who always ignored her. But when the kingdom threatens to tear itself apart due to rumors surrounding the queen's alleged affair, who will Lianne protect and who will she destroy?

Teaser for my current WIP. Legacy Foretold Book 2 of The Avalon Legacies.

I am still calling him X because anyone who has read Legacy Forgotten will know who he is and spoil the surprise. Let me know what ya think. Am I on the right track? Do you want to know more?

The old familiar sadness crept up on him as he remembered the day those walls fell. It was the same day the door to Avalon was barred from anyone ever entering again. It was also the same day he lost his beast. One could say; that was the day x died. He lost everything that ever mattered to him in the the span of a few short hours.
The events of said day being so greatly unfair and ghastly that they would continue to shake the walls of history for centuries to come. Events that quite literally changed the course of more than one world. X, being the best friend of the future queen of Avalon at the time, unfortunately had a front row seat to the end of the world as they knew it. The world is so worried about an apocalypse that they have never stopped to realize that Earth has already had one. The death of magic on this planet was nothing if not apocalyptic.

Lauren Covington's family maintains a grand facade that belies the life they live behind closed doors. Alex Covington, Lauren's father, keeps a tight rein on his family through dominance, abuse, and obsessive control. Consequently, Lauren doesn't believe she could ever trust a man, much less fall in love with one.

When Lauren meets Jesse Ryder, her carefully constructed protective wall shatters. She falls hopelessly and completely in love. It's only fitting that Jesse is a private detective who had once worked for her father, had defied him, and was now the subject of Alex Covington's wrath.

Amidst devastating loss, betrayal, and her father's destructive pursuit of Jesse, Lauren finds the trust and love she had always longed for.

School teacher and advocate of abused children Hannah Cassidy invades a private retreat in the N. Nevada wilderness. Ignoring posted No Trespassing signs and the property's angry owner, she dismisses his threats and demands that he reveal her missing brother's location.

Nicholas Benteen, ex-mercenary and former CIA covert operative, assumes she is yet another adversary intent on exacting lethal revenge for his past deeds.

He will fight to the death to protect the sanctuary he has created for himself and those from his past he has vowed to safeguard. Even as Hannah penetrates Nicholas’s isolation and melts the ice that encases his weary heart, she is seduced by the sensual, battle scarred veteran and the dark secrets of his past.

Angel Delaney puts up a tough front-as a female police officer she must. She works for peace in her coastal Oregon town, but loathes the means she must sometimes use to get it. So when her line of duty requires her to use deadly force against a twelve-year-old boy, Angel's world begins to crumble. The community wants answers, and Angel is dismayed to find that the media portrays her as a racist, a rogue cop, and a menace. While she works to clear her name and her conscience, the investigation into her use of deadly force creates more questions than answers. The detective working on Angel's case, has his hands full when crucial evidence disappears and other people are found murdered. Do these killings relate to the boy's death? Is Angel next? "Angel Delaney is a character with real staying power. The story will keep you flipping pages as you get caught up, not only in the police procedural, but also Angel's personal life. Can't wait for the next installment!"-James Scott Bell, author of A Higher Justice

Until his old friend Tommy Thornton asks a favor, a favor he can’t refuse, and Dodge becomes involved with the beautiful widow Sarah Woodward. She’s alone with her young sons on a dilapidated ranch she’s determined to get up and running with or without his help. Under pressure to deliver the Woodward ranch to a land developer with shady connections, the senator sets in motion a dangerous plot to convince Sarah to sell. Dodge will risk everything to protect Sarah and the boys including his heart.

The small town of Coalmont, Tennessee is shattered when a car crash on graduation night leaves three of its teenagers dead and another three fighting for their lives. Four years later, the aftershocks still ripple through the town, and no one feels them more than Natasha Hawthorne, the young driver. When someone targets the survivors of the horrific crash for murder, the obvious motive is revenge. But things aren’t always what they seem, and the notion of revenge served cold doesn’t ring true with Brady Simms, newly appointed police chief. To make things even more difficult, Brady ultimately finds himself standing squarely between the killer and his next victim, the woman who broke his heart four years ago. As the killer escalates his attacks, Brady’s only hope of saving the intended victims is to get into the mind of a sociopath. When the relative of the first victim makes a startling revelation, Brady reopens the investigation and what he finds will change all of their lives forever.

The most dangerous place to hide is in the dark...

A tough special-agent with the Department of Justice, and a dedicated single mother to her orphaned nephews, Samantha Chase is unbreakable. For Sam, the most unnerving detail is the eucalyptus branch tucked behind the victims’ ears—the signature of a notorious serial murder already convicted and executed for his crimes.

To detective Nick Thomas, the only link to the copycat killings is Sam herself. And when she becomes the target of threats—each one more menacing than the last—his feelings for her just might jeopardize the case. But to understand the killer’s twisted motive is to explore Sam’s past—and a crime she’s spent a lifetime trying to bury...

Mixing Business with Pleasure Teaser of A Gentleman's Luck By Nicole Hill

William held his breath as Princess Na-Lisa was  escorted to the elaborately set table in the sitting room of what was the largest suite of rooms he had ever seen. She was wearing the usual female garb for a woman in India. Which meant that all he could see were two of  the most perfectly captivating green eyes he'd ever had the pleasure to look into. He brushed that thought aside. Eyes where the least of his worries. He was going to have to sleep with this woman and wanted to be able to see what was hidden under all of that fabric. “Please at least let her be decent looking.” He sent up into the cosmos.  He sat on his side of the table as she was sitting on her side. They were left alone with the double doors to the massive room closing them in.
The princess looked around for a moment as if making sure they were alone and then reached up to grab the edge of the large cloth covering her head and face. She ripped it off, William sucked in and held his breath. As she tore the covering off of her head, a mass of long glowing straight black hair fell around her shoulders and hung to her waist. Her skin was the color of light honey and suddenly his mouth was dry. Very Dry. He felt like a man in a desert with no water.
She was breathtaking. There was something about her that made him want to reach out and make sure she was real. She picked up her fork and began to eat as if she had no idea that she had just turned him into a complete mumbling fool. William gave himself a mental shake. He was here to do a job. Get in, get it over with and then get out. Besides if it were possible to learn more ways out through the castle, he was going to take the chance. Maybe the princess had a body to go with that face and he could mix business with pleasure. That's what’s expected of him anyway. He thought to himself grinning.

RUN!!!! Teaser of A Gentleman's Luck By Nicole Hill

Na-Lisa was terrified. As soon as the guards left she tore the covering from her head and face. Realizing at the last minute that she may have gotten herself in trouble. She risked a glance at the guard. It didn't seem like he was going to jump up and report her for uncovering her head. She grabbed her fork and began to eat not even tasting the food. The Guard, she could tell was America although the sun had colored his skin very appealingly.
He had dark black hair, strong chiseled cheek bones and the first pair of blue eyes she had ever seen outside of a book. They were breathtaking. It was like looking into the sky in the middle of summer. She snapped her attention back to the food. What did it matter if he was appealing? She would not do this! She did not care that in the morning when her uncle found out that she would likely be killed for treason. She ate as slow as she could but she knew that time was running out. How was she going to keep this large frightening man off of her? He was huge. His arms were as big around as her waist. He would crush her and take what he wanted.  She had never been this scared in all her life. Her thoughts were interrupted when he cleared his throat and said. “Well I’m done eating if you are darlin. Let’s say we get this over with.”
William figured the best way to approach it was straight on. He may have miscalculated a bit he thought as Na-Lisa shot out of her chair. With a look of pure hatred. “I apologize if you have been misinformed, Mr. Guard.” She started with a prissy undertone to her voice. “But I have no intention of being with you tonight or ever.” She finished.
William was stunned and a bit ticked. How dare this small snobby princess pass judgment on him on sight alone! Who did this harlot think she was? She may have been a princess but where he came from she was still a low brow soiled woman. He was disgusted by the thought of even being with her at this point anyway. “Do not think to come near me. American.” She said with hatred. He was not going to stand for this. He stalked toward her to get to the door. He was getting out of here.
Na-Lisa could not believe what he said to her. Get this over with! What a way to speak to her! He could be a little more understanding! This is crazy. Na-Lisa could not believe that her sisters had been doing this for months now. She decided that maybe the best thing to do was to set him straight. She told him point blank that she was not going to be with him now or ever. He looked angry but did not move or say anything. She needed to push harder. She told him never to touch her and then called him an American. That got his attention and then he was stalking toward her with a very scary expression on his face. Her first thought was that he was going to beat her. That’s what husbands did when wives did not follow orders. She was not his wife but the way he was stalking towards her, she doubted he cared. She was in big trouble. Only one word came to mind. “Run!”

Mia The Bradshaw ClanMia The Bradshaw Clan by J. A. McCorkle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved Mia and Lucas!
Mia is a well to do house wife stuck in a marriage of convenience on both parts. She's not UN happy but she's not happy either. She just kind of floats through life with no real passion or purpose except to be the perfect hostess for her husbands many business associates and prospective business associates. Lucas is the leader of the local Vampire clan. All powerful, feared and respected by all in his clan. To him, humans are for food and fun. Nothing more. Which is why his sudden infatuation with his future business partners very human wife is baffling to say the least. When rival Vampires break into Mia's house in search of Lucas and put Mia and her husband through a night of blood and terror, Lucas realizes that this may not be a simple infatuation. I love how strong Mia was with all that she endured and how she finally overcame her fears in order to for once in her life, have something that she wanted for herself. I will be reading the next book.

Seven fun free reads for your kindle today.

HONOR – Adam Stanford, Earl of Ashworth, has always done the right thing.
DESIRE – Lady Catherine Bourgeault, lonely and rejected, longs to experience passion, to love just once in her life.
TREACHERY – The Baron Bourgeault, to what extremes will an obsessive, unstable man go to achieve his own dark ends?
SEDUCTION – In the face of a love that will not be denied, Adam and Catherine risk everything to be together.
BETRAYAL – What price must Catherine and Adam pay for a forbidden love in a time when honor meant everything?

Catherine didn’t know if she wanted to tell Lord Ashworth about her retreat. She had come upon it not long after her marriage to Edgar, and it had offered her the only peace she was to know for a long time.
It was dangerous to share the only thing that belonged to one. Yet the thought of spending an afternoon with the earl in her most treasured place, sharing a leisurely meal, beckoned her. She glanced shyly over her shoulder to see if he still followed.
Lord Ashworth rode only a few yards behind her horse, and he grinned when their eyes met. He had a lazy, sensual smile and, when he looked at her like that, she felt an odd breathless catch in her throat. She wondered how it would feel if he were to place those warm lips to hers instead of the back of her hand.
Oh dear! There went that catch again.
Within moments they entered a clearing. Catherine dismounted without waiting for the earl’s assistance and swung her arms wide as she turned in a circle about the shaded copse.
“What do you think?” she asked.
The earl, still astride, cast his gaze slowly around the tiny glen as he studied the scenery. He then turned his attention to Catherine but did not speak. A suggestive grin broke the calm of his expression as he continued to watch her.
“More beautiful than I could have imagined,” he murmured.
Simple statement that, but it held a wealth of meaning. Catherine dropped her arms while staring back in fascination. Her mouth fell open and her breathing quickened. The air vibrated with unspoken words as they shared a moment of absolute understanding. The specter of desire had been brought into the open and was acknowledged.

"Perhaps, we should come back during the daylight and that way I can see it properly."

"Come let us look at the rooms upstairs," he said as if she hadn't spoken. Placing his hand on the small of her back, he urged her toward the staircase.

Elizabeth looked up at him, her protest poised on the tip of her tongue when she saw the lust in his eyes. But that wasn't what gave her pause; it was the glimmer of satisfaction in making her wary and nervous.

By God, he knew she wasn't about to just let him have his way with her. Certainly not before they married. So what was his game?

"And is that where you hope to seduce me?" Her parents would be appalled had they heard her. She was astonished anything in that vein was able to pass her lips.

Lord Creswell didn't respond until they reached the first door on the third floor.

No doubt a bed was on the other side of that door.

He turned to her. "If I may be frank, Miss Smith...Elizabeth." He spoke her name, soft and low, and somehow her name on his lips sounded more intimate than a kiss. "I am a man who likes to leave nothing to chance. If I am to court and marry you in such unfashionable haste, I would like some assurance that you and I suit when it comes to the intimacies of the marriage bed."

At his words, lust in its most pure form accosted her. Parts of her went soft while other parts became rigid, pinpoints of pleasure to come.

No. No. No. There would be no pleasure of any sort. Not for her and definitely none for the viscount.

"So you would like us to have marital relations outside the sanctity of marriage?" she asked in a voice she barely recognized.

"You've been so skittish of late. If I hadn't already kissed you, I think you didn't like to be touched. When I marry, it'll be for life and I have no desire to saddle myself with a wife who cannot perform satisfactory in that area." Lord Creswell turned, his back to her as he faced the chamber door. But on his face, she glimpsed the barest hint of smile.

So that was how he thought to get around marrying her. He thought she'd cry off, refusing to enter his philistine game of sampling the goods.

For several long seconds, Elizabeth said nothing, allowing him to believe she was grappling in indecision. His hand released its grasp on the handle of the door and he straightened as if ready to claim victory.

"Very well, if that's what it will take to ease your mind--ease both our minds--let us proceed. But I must have your assurance that once we've established that we suit, um, in that way, we will immediately announce our betrothal and set a wedding date."

Elizabeth took great satisfaction in watching Lord Creswell's entire form stiffen and his hand still in mid-air. Slowly, he angled his head over his shoulder to regard her, incredulity flashing briefly in the  blue-green depths of his eyes. "You are in agreement?"

Feigning the stalwartness of that of a virgin about to be sacrificed for the good of God and country, Elizabeth gave a tremulous but firm nod.

"And if we do not suit, what then?"

Did his voice sound a mite strained?

"I have a feeling we shall suit very well." She gave him a slow smile. "Shall we proceed, my lord?"

Jayce Cullen has been fighting her fear of thunder and lightning ever since she was a child, but nothing could have prepared her for the fury of her new husband. Feeling deceived and betrayed into a loveless marriage, Lord Reese Harrington wants nothing to do with his new wife. Trapped in a marriage with no escape, the beautiful young bride must battle the demons of her husband's past and hope that she can weather the storm his brutish behavior unleashes.
