Review of Lions Heart By Lora Leigh

Lions Heat By Lora Leigh
5 of 5 Stars

This is the first book, I have read by this author and I can assure you that it will not be my last. Lora has created a world that is very easy to lose yourself in. She makes sure that you have all the needed information without the reader feeling like it's just filler material. I have read a lot of books about shape shifters or different animal/human breeds and can say that's it's always refreshing when an author does it with originality. And with just enough science to make it seem plausible without us feeling like we just fell head first into a sci-fi novel. That's the ticket girl. Tell us how it works without boring us to death. Fantastic Jon Lara!

Review of Maybe This Time By Jennifer Crusie

Maybe This Time (Hardcover)

Wow. I have to start off with wow. This had got to be the one of the best, most intriguing ghost stories that I have ever read. Jennifer Crusie knows what she is doing! She describes each scene so well that five minutes in I was no longer sprawled unceremoniously across my bed. I was trapped in the old mansion with Andie and the kids fighting for our lives! Just when we thought we knew what to do, Bam! Another road block. I lost myself in this book. I became one of the characters. The reason for reading in the first place as far as I'm concerned. I was up at 2am, my contacts were dried out, and my mind was exhausted but I could not put it down. Not until I knew they were safe! Wow! I am going right now to see what else she has written Jennifer has just been placed on my list of favorite supernatural authors. Good Job Girl!

Review of She Had No Choice By Debra Burroughs

This was a very well written  book. Some parts had me mortified and crying from anger all at the same time. Others, I was crying from happiness. This is not a fairy tale by any means. This is a story that could have been written about so many women from past to present, who have had to endure hard living conditions and the injustice of a world that even still today is ruled by men. Some of whom chose to do so with their fists. This book is about survival against all odds and coming out the other side. Maybe, not completely whole but realizing that there is always light at the end of the tunnel, even if it takes a while to get there. I would recommend this book whole heartily. Especially for those of us who have faced some of the same hardships and somehow managed to crawl out. Because sometimes as when, we are really left with no choices.

Review of Fairytale By Maggie Shayne

This story was really well written. I did not once skip any paragraphs or pages. I never lost interest. The story even started with " Once Upon A Time." which I loved as it was called Fairy tale. I read this book on a six hour car ride to Miami for vacation and never once wanted to put it down. I have always liked Maggie Shayne so I might be a little biased but I really think that you won't be disappointed.
